Sedgwick Welcomes Linda A. Willett to Our New York Office

Former Bristol-Myers Squibb Company Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Linda A. Willett has joined the firm as a partner in Sedgwick’s New York office. While at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Willett gained more than a decade of in-house counsel experience. Prior to her time at Bristol-Myers Squibb, she was a partner at a law firm that specialized in product liability litigation, and served as national counsel in breast implant litigation.
In her role at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Willett directed the strategic management and resolution of all litigation. She managed complex litigation; helped corporate leaders develop global business strategies; handled challenging risk assessments; advised on acquisitions and divestitures; and supervised lawyers in almost every practice group during her tenure
Willett’s commitment to expanding diversity and advancing women in the legal and corporate communities has been recognized by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund. She also has served on boards for many community organizations and professional associations, including The New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, the Salvation Army and currently as Board Chair for Legal Momentum. She is a member of organizations such as the Economic Club of New York, European Justice Forum, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and Women’s Forum of New York.
She obtained her juris doctorate degree at Rutgers University in 1989. She also obtained a degree in library and information science from Rutgers in 1981, and a science-related Master’s Degree in 1971 from Duquesne University. Willett received her B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1969.
