Elizabeth Weathers concentrates her trial and appellate practice in the areas of product liability litigation, commercial and road construction accident and defect litigation, and environmental liability litigation. Ms. Weathers also has a business tort and general liability defense practice, where she uses her trial and appellate skills to defend clients in all matter of claims.

Federal bench trial defense verdict on behalf of product manufacturers accused of violating federal and Texas environmental laws.

Obtained directed verdict for defendant after four-day jury trial in San Angelo, Texas district court on $5 million dollar claim against general contractor following serious construction accident.

State and federal appellate victories affirming trial and summary judgment rulings in product liability, business tort and general liability claims.

Repeated successful defense on behalf of general contractors who have been sued in complex, multi-party litigation over the personal injuries of its subcontractors' employees.

Repeated successful defense of equipment rental companies sued for product defect, negligence and negligent bailment claims.

Repeated successful defense on behalf of road construction contractors sued for personal injuries to traveling public, other contractors and employees.

Defended numerous multi-party products liability cases on behalf of manufacturers of automobiles, boats, farm equipment and industrial equipment.

Professional liability defense of officer and general counsel of publicly-traded company sued for breach of fiduciary duty in multi-million dollar claim.

Successfully defended life, health and pension plans in suits arising under ERISA.

Successful defense of nursing homes and other charitable organizations sued for both negligence and abuse.

Succeeded in obtaining dismissal with prejudice in nation-wide class action lawsuit for life insurance benefits for stillborn infants brought under the federal OSGLI program.

Repeated successful professional liability defense of attorneys accused of ethics violations.
Memberships & Honors
Ms. Weathers is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section and Environmental Law Section) and serves on its committees for Environmental Litigation and Toxic Torts, Site Remediation, and Superfund and Natural Resource Damages Litigation. Ms. Weathers is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association (Environmental Law Section and Litigation Section) and the Texas Bar Association (Environmental Law Section and Litigation Section).
Ms. Weathers is also a founding member of Power Women of Dallas and volunteers with Attorneys Serving the Community, Attorneys in the Classroom and the annual Texas High School Mock Trial Competition. Ms. Weathers is also an advisor and assistant coach for Collin College’s Mock Trial team.
