Biography
The primary areas of Kanika Corley's practice include litigation and transactional work, with an emphasis in business, entertainment and product liability law. Ms. Corley's professional experience includes representing screenwriters, film producers and composers in copyright infringement, trademark violation and right of publicity matters. In addition, she defends distributors and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and implanted orthopedic devices in a broad array of product liability claims, including in complex multidistrict litigation. Ms. Corley has also successfully litigated maters involving entertainers, business entities, contractors, and design professionals in cases involving disputes related to real estate transactions, employment contracts, as well as claims for breaches of option and license agreements.

In a recent arbitration victory, Ms. Corley obtained a defense verdict in favor of her homeowner clients who argued they were not responsible for property damage and personal injuries sustained by an individual who wrongfully intruded upon their property.
Complementing Ms. Corley's litigation abilities is her transactional experience. She has experience negotiating and drafting contracts for clients ranging from entertainers, athletes, design professionals and executive officers. Ms. Corley's transactional experience focuses on general business matters as well as sports and entertainment law, where she drafts and negotiates talent representation agreements, literary agreements, rights acquisition agreements and advises on general intellectual property law.
Memberships & Honors
Ms. Corley is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Women in Products Liability subcommittee. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Business and Entertainment Law sections, and Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. In addition, Ms. Corley serves as a board member for one of the USC alumnae associations, and GirlTrek, a national nonprofit organization and student-led campaign with the goal of building healthier communities.
