On April 16, 2012, John Stephens, a partner in Sedgwick’s Los Angeles office, was announced as co-chair of Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). Stephens was recently elected treasurer of GLAAD in February of this year. He will continue his role as treasurer and undertake both roles concurrently.
Stephens is also an active member of the American Bar Association, where he is currently the Chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Diversity Committee. He was former Chair of the ABA TIPS Committee on Intellectual Property. Stephens continues to be actively involved in Sedgwick’s internal committees, including chair of the Los Angeles Diversity Committee and E-Discovery Committee. Stephens received his B.S. in Accounting with highest honors from Rutgers University in 1990 and his J.D. with high honors at Rutgers University Law School in 1995.
