On Wednesday, April 25, 2012, San Francisco associate David Mesa hosted the event “An Evening With Asian-American Judges,” which took place in the Sedgwick San Francisco office. Mesa, the incoming president for the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC), hosted the event on behalf of FBANC and Sedgwick’s Asian Pacific Islanders Lawyers Forum. More than 60 FBANC members, Sedgwick attorneys and members from other minority bar associations gathered to hear from a panel of Asian-American judges who shared their experiences on the bench and provided practical advice for attorneys. This year's panelists included: Honorable Ronald Quidachay, San Francisco Superior Court; Honorable Stuart Hing, Alameda County Superior Court; and Honorable Eleanor Nisperos, Administrative Law Judge of the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (Ret.). Mark Punzalan, current FBANC president, was panel moderator.
FBANC, founded in 1981, supports, educates, encourages and empowers its members to excel and succeed in their educational and professional endeavors. Its primary mission is to guard against injustices targeting the Filipino community.
