Chicago Office Adds Insurance/Healthcare Partner, Elevates Insurance Litigator to Partner

Sedgwick's Chicago office gains two new partners with the addition of lateral attorney Peter F. Clancy and the elevation of former special counsel David K. Subramanian.
Clancy represents insurers and reinsurers located worldwide with respect to their North American risk exposures. He counsels clients on liability coverage for managed care, medical malpractice, nursing homes, directors and officers, commercial crime, products liability, clinical trials and general liability. His services include market analysis and strategic planning, program development, policy drafting, claims administration, coverage opinions, claim audits, risk and claims management consulting, and high-exposure case management. Clancy has handled coverage litigation and arbitrations, litigated commercial disputes and successfully handled state and federal appeals. Clancy is admitted in Illinois and is a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He belongs to the Defense Research Institute, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and the Illinois State Bar Association. He received his J.D. (1984) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his A.B. (1980), with honors, from Harvard College.
Subramanian focuses his practice on insurance coverage and reinsurance matters, including environmental and mass tort insurance, professional liability, directors and officers liability, and reinsurance. He also counsels insurance companies on diverse claim handling issues. Mr. Subramanian has lectured at seminars and conferences on insurance coverage and bad faith matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. He received his J.D. (1993) from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. (1989) from Augustana College.
