Three Thelen Attorneys Join Sedgwick
December 2008
Three former Thelen LLP attorneys joined Sedgwick’s San Francisco office. The firm’s Construction Practices Group has brought on Special Counsel Gregg Dulik, and the Commercial Practices Group has added Partner Karen Ng and Associate Matthew Goedert.
As a member of Sedgwick’s Construction Practices Group, Dulik joins a team of nationally recognized lawyers who represent the spectrum of participants in construction projects, including litigation. Dulik has extensive experience prosecuting and defending construction claims before State and Federal courts, governmental administrative tribunals, arbitrators and mediators. He also has substantial experience negotiating and drafting construction contracts, pursuing and opposing bid protests, and counseling builders, owners and engineers during the course of the construction process. In addition to handling construction matters, he also has successfully litigated numerous commercial, product liability, toxic tort, and probate cases. Prior to earning his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, he received his B.A., with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley.
Fellow Berkeley alumni, Ng, will help to expand the services of Sedgwick’s Commercial Practices Group by adding her experience handling employment-based transactions. She concentrates her practice in the areas of ERISA and employee benefits, with an emphasis on ESOPs. She has extensive experience with the design, implementation and administration of ESOPs, pension plans, profit sharing plans and 401(k) plans. In addition, Ng advises clients with respect to the structuring of ESOP transactions involving both closely held and publicly traded companies. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Goedert will also lend his employment-based transactions expertise to the firm’s thriving Commercial Practice Group. He focuses his practice on ERISA and employee benefits, with a significant portion of his experience involves the structuring and financing of ESOP transactions. He also assists clients with all aspects of qualified retirement plan design, implementation, and administration. Goedert received his LL.M. in taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law, his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Nevada.
