Affiliations, Activities and Accomplishments
Board certified in civil trial law, Mr. James is an “AV” rated lawyer who is admitted to the Florida Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. He is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the American Bar Association as well as the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel, Product Liability Advisory Council, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. He has served as president of the Broward County Division of the American Board of Trial Advocates, president of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association in 1991, and chairman of the editorial board of Trial Advocate Quarterly.
Mr. James is a member of the Board of Governors of the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University, located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was elected to The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation in 2011.
Mr. James is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Florida Trend's Legal Elite, and Florida Monthly's Florida's Top Lawyers. In 2009, Gordon James was honored by Florida Super Lawyers for his work in civil litigation defense. Additionally, he serves in the Broward County Guardian Ad Litem Program. In the past, Mr. James also served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves, Military Intelligence branch.
