Benjamin R. Ehrhart is an associate in Sedgwick’s San Francisco office representing national, regional and local companies, as well as public agencies, providing advice, advocacy, litigation services and refined negotiation skills in construction, real property and insurance/surety law. He advises all levels of management on a variety of legal matters and their business ramifications arising at the early stages of construction projects (contract negotiation, delay and lender issues) through post completion disputes (mechanic’s lien, construction defect and surety claims). He also has experience cooperatively structuring and preparing complex settlement agreements in boundary disputes, construction defect cases and failed multi-purpose land use development projects.

Affiliations, Activities and Accomplishments
Mr. Ehrhart is admitted to practice in the states of California and Minnesota. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Ehrhart is an active volunteer for the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Housing Negotiation Project.
Prior to law school, Mr. Ehrhart spent a year working as an ordinary seaman aboard a tanker delivering grain and fuel to Djibouti, India and along the east coast of the United States. Mr. Ehrhart is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and maintains strong relationships with family and friends in the Midwest.
