Biography
Brian Thompson concentrates his practice in the areas of appeals and complex litigation in multiple state and federal jurisdictions. He has trial-level experience in products liability and construction practice litigation. In his appellate practice, Mr. Thompson has briefed issues that cover a broad spectrum of substantive law, including asbestos and medical device matters, securities law, professional responsibility, premises liability, civil procedure, evidentiary, and constitutional law questions, and insurance and workers’ compensation law. Mr. Thompson has worked on cases before courts of appeal in California, Washington, and the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Thompson is a contributor to Sedgwick’s Appellate Strategist blog.
In 2011, he was recognized as a recipient of the Wallace Sedgwick Client Service Award.
While attending law school at U.C. Hastings, Mr. Thompson served as Symposium Editor for the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. He also competed in several moot court competitions, where he won multiple Best Oral Advocate and Best Brief honors.
Prior to joining Sedgwick, he served the Honorable Charles R. Breyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California as a judicial extern.
