Mr. Parvin is a partner in the firm’s Orange County office. He focuses his practice on business, transportation, products liability, toxic tort and environmental litigation, and the defense of serious personal injury cases. He also has substantial experience handling appellate matters, including cases before the California Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Parvin holds an AV® Preeminent™ rating, the highest ranking for legal ability and general ethical standards, as reported in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
Litigation Matters
Mr. Parvin has considerable trial experience. His most notable victories to date include a commercial construction defect case on behalf of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he obtained judgments and settlements for MetLife exceeding $11.2 million, and the defense of a mass products liability case which was chosen as one of the “Top Ten Defense Verdicts of 2004” by the Daily Journal.
Other examples of his trial victories include obtaining defense verdicts in: a franchisor/franchisee dispute alleging breach of contract and fraud; a wrongful death trucking accident; a multiple plaintiff truck vs. bus accident; an independent claims adjuster errors and omissions claim; a real estate litigation matter involving a blocked view and trespass claim; a real estate broker errors and omissions claim and environmental contamination matter arising out of the sale of a gas station and mini-mart; a wrongful termination and sexual harassment case; a legal malpractice case arising out of a divorce proceeding; an insurance bad faith case; an assault and battery case involving multiple parties at a college track meet; and several automobile and premises liability cases, including a defense verdict in a record 8 minutes in a premises liability trip and fall case.
Mr. Parvin has also achieved major victories for other clients, including a $5,000 verdict in defense of a product liability case involving a surgical laser where the demand was $350,000, a successful defense of a binding arbitration insurance bad faith case, and the court ordered dismissal of a multi-party toxic tort claim obtained by obtaining the exclusion of plaintiffs’ experts from testifying at trial. He also represented a master franchisor of a copy chain against claims of franchise act violations, fraud, unfair competition, and Section 17200 claims filed in California state court and obtained a sizable attorneys fees award.

Mr. Parvin is admitted to practice in all California State courts, the United States District courts, Central, Eastern and Southern Districts, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the California State Bar and Orange County Bar Associations. Mr. Parvin is also a member of TIDA (Trucking Industry Defense Association.
He has served as a committee chair, statewide programming chair, executive committee member, officer, advisor and representative of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California since 1993. He served as chair of that section for the 2001-2002 term. Mr. Parvin currently serves as a faculty member for Sedgwick’s Trial Academy in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He has also been chosen as a “Southern California Super Lawyer” in 2007, 2008, 2009 and most recently 2010 for business litigation. He was included in the April 2008 and 2009 issues of Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Edition. Most recently, he was honored by Orange Coast Magazine in 2010 in its selection of “Top Attorneys In Orange County.”

Other Activities
Mr. Parvin is an avid sports participant away from the office. For over ten years, he was the manager and head coach of highly competitive youth travel baseball teams, the South County Bluejays and Irvine Diamondbacks, which participated in tournaments in California, Nevada, Arizona, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma and New York. He is a past president of the Irvine PONY Baseball Association. Mr. Parvin also served as a chapter adviser and province president for the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
