Biography
Dennis Raglin’s practice focuses on complex products liability, drug and medical device litigation and California’s Proposition 65 and green chemistry regulations. Mr. Raglin’s products practice includes the defense of medical device and pharmaceutical clients in a variety of state and federal litigation. He has been involved in defending national and international clients in significant pharmaceutical coordinated and multi-district litigation, while also trying products liability cases pertaining to prescription pharmaceuticals and medical devices. His practice includes the defense of government and corporate clients in complex and class action tort litigation, including numerous cases involving state agencies. Mr. Raglin’s practice also involves counseling and defending clients related to California’s Proposition 65 toxics law and emerging green chemistry regulations.

Represents designing surgeon in both multi-district and state coordinated litigation involving thousands of plaintiffs claiming design defect in implantable surgical device

Counsels clients in establishing testing protocols and achieving ongoing compliance with levels of various chemicals in fashion accessories and jewelry specified in numerous Proposition 65 consent judgments

Represents national pharmaceutical company in coordinated products liability action in California involving over 2,000 plaintiffs claiming failure to adequately warn of risk of permanent physical injuries
- Serves as California counsel responsible for all aspects of defense strategy and litigation and trial for two national medical device manufacturers
- Defends the State of California in complex litigation, including class actions.
- Represents various national brand manufacturers in ongoing Proposition 65 litigation involving allegations of failure to warn regarding lead contained in fashion products.
- Obtained defense verdict for medical device manufacturer a client sued for negligent design and failure to warn regarding its electrocautery machine. Verdict was returned following a seven-week jury trial in Santa Clara County where parents of young plaintiff sought $26 million for injuries.
- Obtained defense verdict in Napa County in a wrongful death case alleging design defect and strict liability involving decedent's use of client’s heartburn medication.
- Successfully resolved Sacramento County matter on eve of trial in which parents alleged that product defect in client’s endotracheal tube caused child’s death.
- Successfully defended design and manufacturing defect case brought in Alameda County involving medical device client’s bioabsorbable screws, including securing settlement on eve of trial.
- Represented numerous clients in complex state- and federal-coordinated multi-district litigations, including cases related to quinine, latex gloves, surgical sutures and various prescription medicines.
