Biography

George S. McCall is a partner with the Insurance Practices Group. Mr. McCall, who has more than 33 years of experience, focuses his practice on insurance counseling, litigation and arbitration. He provides coverage advice and represents clients in commercial insurance litigation, insurance coverage disputes, extra-contractual claims, disputes between primary and excess insurance companies, disputes between insurance and reinsurance companies, and other complex insurance litigated matters that involve a range of coverages and multiparty coverage disputes.

Mr. McCall also routinely handles litigation cases, including asbestos, silicosis, personal injury defense, product liability, premises liability, oil and gas, and labor and employment issues.

Litigation Matters

• Dismissal of a defendant in a wrongful death case on grounds of forum non conveniens. 
• Dismissal of a medical products manufacturer in a suit for personal injury.
• Dismissal of a contractor in an oil and gas dispute over royalties.
• Dismissal of self-insured client and primary insurance carrier in dispute over priority of insurance coverages involving additional insured. 
• Successful recovery of local insurance policy proceeds in litigation in the Bahamas regarding policy interpretation and priority of insurance coverages on behalf of primary and excess insurance companies. 
• Entry of summary judgment for a hotel client in a non-subscriber personal injury case.

Mr. McCall is a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and Defense Research Institute. He is board certified in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. McCall was named a 2009 and 2010 Texas Super Lawyer and is also “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
