J. Gregory Lahr litigates complex commercial disputes, prepares coverage analyses and litigates and provides counseling on insurance coverage matters involving first- and third-party property and casualty, environmental, directors and officers professional liability and employment practices claims.
He also defends clients in employment discrimination and harassment matters before federal and state courts and agencies. Mr. Lahr counsels clients on a variety of commercial and contract matters as well as employment issues, including hiring and termination practices, employment contracts, payment of wages, employment policies and handbooks.
Mr. Lahr’s clients represent a cross section of industries and include insurers, environmental contractors, airlines, employment staffing companies and recruiters . His experience in establishing and operating a New York-based wholesale fashion company has provided him with additional insight into the needs of fashion companies. He has established corporate structures, negotiated vendor contracts and provided counsel on intellectual property and production and manufacturing issues within the fashion and retail sector.
Presentations and Publications
Mr. Lahr authored a commentary entitled "What Is the Method to Their ‘Madness’? Experimental Treatment Exclusions in Health Insurance Policies," published in the Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy. He is the coauthor of "Watch Your Back: Smart Hiring and Proper Background Checks," published in the Employee Relations Law Journal, as well as coauthor of "Pharmaceutical Recalls: Strategies for Minimizing the Damage," published in the Drug Information Journal and presented at a Drug Information Association seminar. Mr. Lahr coauthored "The Use of Summary Judgment in Defending Employment Discrimination Cases" for the ABA’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section. He has lectured on establishing and maintaining employment relationships, and on coverage litigation issues relating to mold, pollution and the discovery process.

Mr. Lahr is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
While in law school, Mr. Lahr was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy, a member of the ATLA National Trial Competition team and recipient of the Vernon X. Miller Scholarship, which is awarded to students with high academic achievement in their first and second years.
