Sedgwick's Alex Potts was a speaker at the annual Hague Conference on Private International Law on May 23, 2012 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Hamilton, Bermuda. on Private International Law. 2012 marked the first year that the Conference was held in the Caribbean region.
Mr. Potts' session, entitled "Introduction to the 2005 Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements", covered the basic features of the Convention, selecting the venue in international proceedings, recognition and enforcement of judgments, and relevant factors in choosing judicial proceedings or arbitration.
