Mr. Wangelin is a director of the Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and a member of ARIAS, the American and Illinois State Bar Associations and the Defense Research Institute.
He was selected as a 2006 Illinois Super Lawyer and had previously been named by his Illinois peers as a Leading Lawyer in the fields of ADR and Insurance/Reinsurance. Mr. Wangelin is also a member of the Leading Lawyers Network's Advisory Board, which is composed of those Leading Lawyers who receive the highest number of votes for their areas of law and/or their region in Illinois.
Mr. Wangelin was chairman, Lawyer Services Committee - Young Lawyers Section (1977-1982), director (1979-1981), Chicago Bar Association - Young Lawyer's Section (1979-1981) and a recipient of the association's David C. Hilliard Award. He also served on the Governor's Advisory Board for Credit Unions (1980-1981).
