Jason McNerlin’s practice is focused on UK and international insurance and reinsurance disputes, particularly involving product recall, guarantee and liability insurances, as well as first party and third party liability energy, property and casualty risks. Mr McNerlin has drafted numerous policies for products insurers, and has recently worked on secondment to a Lloyd’s syndicate.
Jason McNerlin’s practice is focused on UK and international insurance and reinsurance disputes, particularly involving product recall, guarantee and liability insurances, as well as first party and third party liability energy, property and casualty risks. Mr McNerlin has drafted numerous policies for products insurers, and has recently worked on secondment to a Lloyd’s syndicate.
Mr McNerlin advises London Market and New York insurers in a range of liability cases. He is currently advising CGL insurers in relation to an English High Court action concerning industrial fire damage and consequential loss valued at over £100m. He advised the excess liability insurers of Bedfordshire Police Authority in the Yarl’s Wood riot damage claim, and recently advised London Market insurers in relation to international automotive recalls involving Renault and Nissan.
He is currently advising insurers on a wide variety of international matters, including the European horsemeat scandal, cell phone radiation injury litigation in the US, a gas explosion in Chile, and the Cologne City Archive collapse, which has given rise to potential losses exceeding €1bn.
Mr McNerlin advises producers, suppliers and insurers on product safety regulation and crisis management, and also acts on their behalf in commercial disputes.
He has advised on coverage and liability issues in claims against various classes of professional, including accountants, surveyors, engineers, legal advisers and IT professionals.

Mr McNerlin is a consulting editor of, and contributor to, the text book “Product Recall, Liability and Insurance – a Global Guide” (Globe, 2012).
