Katelin O’Rourke Gorman counsels insurers on various matters involving directors and officers (D&O) and financial institutions liability coverage. She focuses predominantly on claims concerning alleged violations of the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as well as claims for breach of fiduciary duty made in connection with mergers and acquisitions. Ms. O’Rourke Gorman’s experience also includes the representation of clients in coverage and employment litigation.

Memberships & Honors
Ms. O’Rourke Gorman is active in professional development and mentoring activities. She has been a member of the firm’s Mentoring, Summer Associate, and Diversity Committees, and is active in Sedgwick’s Women’s Forum. Ms. O’Rourke Gorman is also a member of the NYC Bar’s Diversity Pipeline Initiatives Committee, the aim of which is to provide professional development and educational programs to New York City students interested in pursuing legal careers. Ms. O’Rourke Gorman has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Hon. Charles L. Brieant, Jr. Fellowship since 2009.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. O’Rourke Gorman served as a law clerk to the Hon. Charles L. Brieant, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. During law school, she participated in the Froessel Moot Court Competition, attended the Pepperdine University School of Law Judicial Clerkship Institute, and was a member of the Corporate & Business Law Association. She was also a law school intern for the Hon. John F. Keenan, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. She is a regular contributor to Sedgwick’s Insurance Law Update and has also contributed to the Professional Liability Underwriting Society Journal and The Directors and Officers Liability Insurance Deskbook (ABA Publishing).
