Ms. Rodriguez represents respiratory products manufacturers on mass and toxic tort cases. She has served on the national coordinating counsel team for a global safety product manufacturer, providing a uniform litigation defense strategy in all the states where the client is involved in litigation. In addition, she directly handles Texas matters in a variety of toxic tort cases from the initial complaint to final resolution.
Additionally, Ms. Rodriguez handles environmental matters for a rubber and foamed plastics manufacturer, successfully minimalizing liabilities involving superfund sites and other waste sites.
Ms. Rodriguez also handles employment matters including breach of contract, defamation and fraud.
Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked as a paralegal since 2002 for many of her current clients. Ms. Rodriguez began her legal career as a paralegal at Baker Botts, LLP before leaving to attend law school. After finishing law school, she was invited to return working for the same legal team, for which she previously worked as a paralegal, as an attorney.
Affiliations, Activities and Accomplishments
Ms. Rodriguez is a member of the The Texas Young Lawyers Association, The American Bar Association, The Houston Young Lawyers Association, Toastmasters, and The Houston Bar Association for which she serves on the Lawyers for Literacy Committee. She is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and has been appointed to serve on its Racial Diversity in the Profession standing committee for the 2010 to 2013 term. Additionally, Ms. Rodriguez is an H Texas Magazine Top Lawyer of 2010 and 2011.
While in law school, she served as a research assistant and was credited for her assistance in the Iowa Law Review article entitled, “In the Zone: Sex Offenders and the Ten Percent Solutions.”
Ms. Rodriguez also served as a judicial intern at the Texas First Court of Appeals for Justice George C. Hanks, Jr. and was selected to participate in the 2007 Texas Legislative Internship Program (TLIP) by State Senator Rodney Ellis with the Texas House of Representatives. As a TLIP intern of the 80th Legislative Session, Ms. Rodriguez served as a legislative aide for State Representative Scott Hochberg analyzing legislative policy issues and was honored for her work in House Resolution 2640 and Senate Resolution 718.
