Sedgwick attorneys Fred Smith, Kenneth White and David Humiston presented a "lunch and learn" seminar at the offices of One Beacon in Hartford, Connecticut. The seminar covered a discussion of the tripartite relationship between insurer, insured and outside counsel (for which the attendees received ethics credits towards their required continuing education hours in Florida); statutory caps on damages including an overview of caps in Florida and across the U.S., current challenges to the existing statutes and an overview of the policy reasons behind damage caps; and, a discussion of recent developments in managed care and ERISA litigation.
