Press Release - Sedgwick Attorney Appointed to University of San Francisco Law School Board of Governors
May 2007
Sedgwick announced that San Francisco Special Counsel Denise Trani-Morris was appointed to treasurer of the University of San Francisco (USF) School of Law, her alma matter. Trani-Morris has served on USF's board of governors for the previous three years, during which time she served as a class speaker on employment and labor topics, and arranged for Sedgwick to host USF's first La Raza alumni event.
"I would not be where I am today without USF," said Trani-Morris. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to such an outstanding institution, and to provide guidance and inspiration to a new generation of attorneys."
"At Sedgwick we believe it is a privilege to give back to the nation's top law schools and top legal talent," said Managing Partner of Sedgwick's San Francisco office, Michael Healy. "The students and faculty of USF will greatly benefit from having such a gifted attorney, leader and mentor on their board."
Trani-Morris, based in Sedgwick's San Francisco office, concentrates her practice in the areas of employment and business litigation, with a focus on wrongful termination/discrimination defense. In addition to serving as treasurer for USF's School of Law, she also participates in the USF Mentor Program, is a member of the California Minority Council Program, the San Mateo County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, California Women Lawyers and a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and her B.A. from San Diego State University.
