Insurance Coverage and Exit Strategies Professional Nick Miles Joins Sedgwick’s London Office
Sedgwick is pleased to announce that Nick Miles has joined the firm’s London office as a senior associate.
“Nick enhances the firm’s London offering by combining expertise in insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes, with strengths in noncontentious matters including insurance business transfers, complex structured products, and regulatory issues”, said Mark Chudleigh, managing partner of Sedgwick’s London office.
Miles joins Sedgwick from City of London firm Denton Wilde Sapte LLP. He has represented insurers and reinsurers in complex multijurisdictional litigation and arbitration, often concerning captive structures and alternative risk transfer products, handled arbitration proceedings relating to credit default swaps, and advised insurers and reinsurers in relation to transfers of insurance business under Part VII of the UK Financial Services & Markets Act 2000. He advises participants in the live and runoff industries. He routinely advises on the drafting and structuring of captive programmes, loss portfolio transfers, and gap policies. Miles has spoken at numerous conferences on transfers of insurance business and solvent schemes of arrangement and is coauthor of a forthcoming book on insurance business transfers.
“Sedgwick has an enviable client base and is instructed in relation to almost all major industry losses and issues”, said Miles. “I look forward to working for its established clients as well as welcoming my own clients to the firm. Sedgwick has gone from strength to strength in London in recent years. I am delighted to join the firm at such a propitious time and soon after the launch of its Bermuda office.”
