Sedgwick Recruits Exceptional Leader for Critical Administrative Position

Heller Ehrman’s CHRO Joins Sedgwick

SAN FRANCISCO, December 15, 2008 - Sedgwick, Detert, Moran and Arnold LLP announces that as of January 1, 2009, David Sanders, former chief human resource officer at Heller Erhman LLP, will lead Sedgwick’s human resource group. Based in the firm’s San Francisco office, Sanders will be responsible for all of the firm’s extended human resource functions, including recruitment, training, benefits, compensation and policies.

“Sedgwick’s talented administrative team allows our attorneys to focus on our primary mission: providing sophisticated legal solutions to our corporate clients,” said Firm Chair Michael Tanenbaum. “David will help Sedgwick attract, train and retain professionals who can provide the highest quality legal services to our clients.”

“I’ve long admired Sedgwick for nurturing the personal and professional development of its staff and attorneys,” said Sanders. “I am looking forward to joining the Sedgwick team, and using my human resources expertise to support the firm’s personnel and business objectives.”

Prior to joining Sedgwick, Sanders spent 10 years as Heller Ehrman’s chief human resources officer. During that time he managed the successful integration of human resources policies and practices; designed compensation and performance-based incentive systems; developed and implemented firm reorganization plans; and initiated employee retention and recognition programs. He earned his B.A. from San Francisco State University, and his Professional Human Resources certification from the University of California at Berkeley.
