Sedgwick Continues to Expand Its Presence in Texas

Partner Karen Maston and three associates join Sedgwick’s Houston and Austin offices

Houston, December 21, 2009 – Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP has announced that partner Karen Maston and associates Keshia Babin, Diane Huynh and Stephanie Perkins, formerly of Johnson Trent, have joined the firm’s Mass Tort and Complex Litigation group in our Houston and Austin offices.

“We set out to expand our already strong litigation capabilities and client service and are delighted they have joined Sedgwick,” said Alan Vickery, managing partner of the Texas offices. “We expect they will be instrumental in the continued success and expansion of our litigation practices in Houston and Austin.”

Maston has two decades of experience representing clients in trial and appellate work in the state and federal courts in cases involving environmental and toxic tort, commercial, product liability, wrongful death and property damage.

“What attracted me to Sedgwick was not only the quality of the lawyers and the firm’s solid reputation in the legal industry, but also the depth and breadth of their national platform in the areas that are critical to handling complex litigation,” Maston said.

Maston obtained her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Missouri-Columbia and obtained her J.D. from the University of Texas.

Babin obtained her B.A. from the Sam Houston State University and her J.D. and Government Law Certificate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Huynh obtained her B.S. in psychology from the University of Houston Central Campus, her M.S.W. from the University of Houston Central Campus for Social Work, and her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law.

Perkins obtained her B.A., with honors, from Vanderbilt University and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas.
