Sedgwick Earns "Gold Standard Certification"

July 2011

Sedgwick has earned the “Gold Standard Certification” from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF).  This is the first-ever objective assessment of law firms to determine which law firms in the United States have successfully integrated women partners in top leadership positions.

WILEF invited more than 300 law firms with 100 or more attorneys to apply for this certification and, to date, Sedgwick is one of only 32 firms that met the criteria to receive the Gold Standard Certification.  WILEF reviewed several benchmarks to measure access for women to the top positions within each firm.  WILEF reviewed actual percentage of women equity partners, women partners in specific key leadership roles and percentage of women among the most highly compensated partners in the firm, rather than good intentions or plans to do better in the future.

Sedgwick will be honored for the WILEF certification at the Gold Standard Awards Luncheon on September 13, 2011, at the Yale Club in New York City.

This certification is due to the extraordinary women attorneys in our firm, the efforts of the Sedgwick Women’s Forum to attract and retain the best women attorneys and to advance their careers, the dedication of the firm to diversity and, of course, the longstanding support and encouragement of women attorneys at Sedgwick by their male colleagues and each and every employee.
