Chambers and Partners reported the results of its 2011 ranking of London insurance and reinsurance firms.
Sedgwick was included on the list in the area of Insurance: Contentious Claims.
This firm was noted for its handling of high-value contentious instructions and its recent recruitment of a number of key lateral hires, as well as its ability to tap into its US-based resources. In 2010, Sedgwick added an eight-lawyer insurance team from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain to its London practice.
Edward Smerdon was listed as a key indivdual who is well regarded as a "professional, understanding, modest and innovative" solicitor. He was also recognized for his handling of financial lines and D&O liability. He has recently been acting for a large European bank on its professional liability insurance.
