Sedgwick NY Raises More Than $1,400 for “Skip Lunch Fight Hunger” Campaign
May 2012
Sedgwick NY raised $1,483.85 during a week in May as part of the Skip Lunch Fight Hunger campaign, a citywide initiative sponsored by City Harvest that asks individuals to donate what they normally spend on lunch to help fight hunger in New York City. Sedgwick has participated in the campaign since 2009.
In honor of City Harvest’s 10th anniversary, the campaign ran for a week. From May 14-18, 2012, team members were encouraged to make donations online or in paper lunch bags supplied by City Harvest and to share the link with friends and family on social media networks.
City Harvest is a food rescue organization, collecting excess food from restaurants, grocers, cafeterias and farmers’ produce markets and delivering it to more than 600 community food programs.
