Biography

Teresa McLoughlin Rice has an extensive background in commercial litigation.  She has represented a diverse array of clients in state and federal courts, alternative dispute resolution forums and regulatory proceedings.

Recent Successes 

• A bench trial win in a suit filed in U.S. District Court on commercial tort claims. Negotiated a complete dismissal for the client, a chartered financial analyst, in a state court case on the eve of trial.
• Summary adjudication win on behalf of a utility client on a breach of contract claim arising from a municipal power supply contract. 
• Arbitration win on behalf of insurance carrier where panel found that claims were properly denied under an employment practices liability policy. 
• Summary Judgment win in favor of insurance carrier on claims brought by a sub-prime lender pursuant to Fidelity Bond.
• Adjudicated dismissal of California Public Utilities Committee proceeding based on successful demonstration that regulated entity client had complied with Commissioner rules and decisional authority.
